Itinerary | Day to day

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport – Transfer to Arusha

Distance: ~55 km
Drive Time: 1 to 1.5 hours

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), your driver-guide will meet and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha for a restful evening. You can relax by the pool or take a short walk around the lodge’s lush gardens.

Distance: ~120 km
Drive Time: 2.5 to 3 hours

After breakfast at 7:00 AM, depart Arusha by 8:00 AM and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive baobab trees, large elephant population, and diverse wildlife. Enjoy a full-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch around 12:30 PM in the park. Later in the afternoon, drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

After early breakfast at 6:30 AM, depart by 7:00 AM, driving through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy stunning views over the crater before continuing toward the Serengeti National Park. Expect en route wildlife sightings and enjoy a picnic lunch at 1:00 PM before your afternoon game drive in the Serengeti.

Today, spend the entire day exploring the endless plains of the Serengeti. Your guide will track the movements of wildlife depending on the season – whether it’s the Great Migration or predator activity. Breakfast is served early at camp. Enjoy a picnic lunch at 12:30 PM, followed by more wildlife encounters until late afternoon.

Distance: ~145 km from Serengeti to Ngorongoro, then ~40 km to Karatu
Drive Time: ~6–7 hours total (including crater tour)

After an early breakfast at 5:30 AM, depart the Serengeti by 6:00 AM and drive to Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the world’s largest unbroken caldera for a 3–4 hour game drive. The crater is home to over 25,000 animals, including the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard—all within a stunning landscape.

Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor around 12:30 PM, followed by your ascent back to the rim and drive to Karatu in the late afternoon.

After breakfast, depart by 6:30 AM for Lake Eyasi, home to the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes. Join the Hadzabe on a traditional hunting session and learn about their bush survival skills, lifestyle, and language. It’s a truly immersive and rare cultural experience.

After the visit, you may either:

  • Return to Arusha for one more night (optional, can be arranged)

  • Transfer directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home
